  • How complex is the booking or checkout logic?: Standard appointment booking, plugins may work. Multi-staff, multi-location, deposits, and CRM sync, custom usually wins.

WordPress looks cheaper upfront. Factor in premium plugins, hosting upgrades, security incidents, and developer time fixing plugin conflicts over three years.
